There was only one time that really bothered me towards the end where it felt more like a plot point. I did think Isabella was a little hard headed and acted without thinking a few times, quite dramatically. The story was engaging from beginning to end and I felt drawn into the time period and plantation life. The inspirational elements were fairly minor. The villains were well drawn and played their parts well, giving a counterbalance to the sweet and romantic moments. I absolutely loved the beginning of this story and the continual friction between Isabella and Connor! They were such fun characters! I also loved Isabella's family and some of the other friends. Historical and inspirational readers alike are sure to fall in love with these characters and enjoy the story from beginning to end.
